Our dad and mama dogs are the center of our program. They are chosen with the greatest care to make sure they have the right genetics and temperament to bring happy and healthy pups into the world. We appreciate and respect them, and we want each of them to have the life we hope for all of our puppies, in a warm and loving home with parents that adore them and provide stability in their forever home.
If we raised all our parent dogs in our home, we simply wouldn’t have the time and energy to do our intensive puppy curriculum while giving the parents the attention they deserve. We also want to avoid any possible emotional distress the parents might experience from being rehomed when they retire.
That’s why we started a guardian program: to give our parent dogs a chance for a stable and loving home environment while providing prospective puppy parents an opportunity to support breeding practices that give pups the best possible start in life, at the lowest possible price.
How it works
We choose the Goldilocks of the litter for future breeding purposes
You bring home your new pup, free of charge, to raise as your own
We keep in touch to discuss the health, well being, and heat cycles of your fur baby (if you bring home a female, of course)
If you bring home a female, your pup returns to our home 2-3 times to whelp and raise her pups (and more often if she ever wants to come for a visit!). If you choose a male, he will return to our home for 2 to 3 days at a time as needed.
Once your female pup has had 2-3 litters, we pay for her to get spayed, and she is completely in your hands from then on, feeling proud that she brought such beautiful babies into the world. Your male pup will be neutered on our dime after we choose to retire him, no later than 5 years of age, and will similarly be entirely in your care from then on.

Requirements:
Live within 30 minutes of South Orange County, CA
Commit to full time care of your pup in your home
Planning to continue living in the same area for at least 4 years
Commit to your female pup having 2-3 litters and allowing them to stay in our home to whelp and raise her pups (birth to 8 weeks of age), or your male pup staying with us for up to a week at a time until 5 years of age as needed
Provide basic training for the pup to thrive in a home environment (potty training, basic commands, recall, basic obedience)
Grooming at least once every two months
Vet care (vaccinations, checkups, etc will be your responsibility. We will pay for breeding related veterinarian costs and for your pup to be spayed/neutered upon completion of contract)
Keep your pup on insurance
Learn signs of your female dog’s heat cycle and allow us to breed at the appropriate time
Be willing to communicate with us and work as a team
Love your dog with all of your heart!
